In one sentence
The car photo resizer is a free browser tool from Car Background AI for car dealers and private sellers. It resizes up to 30 car photos at a time to the dimensions each marketplace expects, including Facebook Marketplace, AutoTrader, Cars.com and CarGurus, and adds your dealership logo in the same step. No signup, no watermark, and nothing is uploaded anywhere: resizing happens in your browser.

Check the logo rules
AutoScout24, Trade Me and eBay don't allow logos or text on listing photos. Rules differ elsewhere, so check each marketplace's photo rules. Use your logo on your own website and social media instead.

How to add your dealership logo to car photos
Adding a logo to car photos used to mean opening each file in an editor, dragging the logo into a corner, checking the size, exporting, and repeating for every angle of every car. For a lot with 60 units and 25 photos each, that is 1,500 manual edits. Here is the short version.
1
Upload your car photos
Drag up to 30 photos into the tool or tap to pick them from your phone or desktop. JPG, PNG or WebP.
2
Upload your dealership logo once
Upload it as a PNG. A logo with a transparent background sits cleanly on any photo; a JPG logo works too, but its background shows up as a box around the logo. A white or dark version of the logo helps on busy backgrounds.
3
Place the logo
Drag the logo where you want it on the preview and set its size and opacity; it lands in the same spot on every photo. A bottom corner keeps it out of the way of the car. Keep it small enough that it never covers a wheel, a badge or body damage you need to disclose, and subtle enough that it reads as a brand mark rather than a sticker.
4
Pick the marketplace size
Choose the shape your marketplace uses, then pick Crop to fill to trim the edges, or Fit whole car to keep the full car with a blurred copy of the photo filling the space behind it.
5
Download
Every photo comes back as a JPG named with its new size, and a batch downloads as one zip file, ready to upload to the marketplace or your DMS.
Your photos and your logo stay your property, and they stay on your device: resizing happens in your browser, so nothing is uploaded anywhere. Car Background AI does not claim any rights over them.
Sizes
Marketplace photo requirements, with sources
Marketplaces publish less about photo sizes than dealers expect. Some give an exact pixel size, some only give a photo count, and some say nothing at all. The table below only shows figures we could trace to the marketplace's own help page or dealer documentation. Where we could not, the cell points you to the marketplace's help page rather than a guessed number.

What to do with this table
When a marketplace publishes a size, export at that size. Cars.com and eBay Motors both centre on 1024 × 768 as a ceiling or recommendation, so a 4:3 export at 1024 × 768 covers both.
When a marketplace publishes nothing, export a 4:3 landscape photo on the long side of roughly 1600 to 2400 px. That is sharp on a retina phone, small enough to upload fast, and crops cleanly to a square thumbnail.
Shoot landscape. Every marketplace above that states an orientation asks for landscape.
Photo count matters more than most dealers think. Fill the allowance: 20 on Facebook Marketplace, 40 on eBay Motors, 100 on Auto Trader UK.

Facebook Marketplace photo size
The short answer: Facebook does not publish a pixel size for vehicle listings. What it does publish is a photo count and a content rule.
Photo count. A vehicle listing should have two or more photos, up to 20. Listings with too few photos, or with "small images", are a stated reason for rejection.
Content. "Images with banners, text or placeholder images are generally not allowed, and may be banned." Keep price stickers, "SALE" banners and phone numbers off the photo.
File type. Facebook's vehicle help does not list file types. Its Marketplace real estate documentation accepts JPEG and PNG, and JPEG is the safe choice for car photos.
Aspect ratio. Not published for listings. For Facebook automotive inventory ads (paid, feed-based) Facebook recommends 1,200 × 628 at 1.9:1 and under 20% text on the image. That is the ad spec, not the listing spec.
So the practical facebook marketplace photo size for car listings is a landscape 4:3 photo, at least 1024 px wide, under 20 per listing, with nothing written on the image.
Cover photo tip: the first photo is the one shoppers see while scrolling, so make it a front three-quarter shot of the car on a clean background, with the full car in frame and some margin around it. Thumbnails in the Marketplace grid may be shown in a square crop, so anything near the left and right edges of a wide photo can be lost in the preview.
What happens to off-ratio photos: Facebook does not reject a photo for its ratio. Portrait photos tend to show with empty space around them in the gallery and lose most of the car in the square preview. Resizing every photo to the same landscape frame makes the gallery look like one catalogue instead of a mix of phone shots.

Placement
Where to put your dealership logo on listing photos
A dealership watermark tells a shopper who is selling the car when the photo gets saved or reposted, and it makes 40 photos from 40 cars look like one dealer's inventory. It stops doing either job the moment it gets in the way of the car. The short rules:

✓
Corner, not centre.
Bottom-right is the convention. Never across the body of the car.
✓
Small and semi-transparent.
Large enough to read on a phone thumbnail, never covering a wheel, a badge or damage you need to disclose.
✓
Inside the crop safe zone,
so it survives the square thumbnail.
✓
No phone numbers, prices or "SALE" text on the photo.
Facebook Marketplace's dealer help says images with banners or text are generally not allowed; eBay's picture policy bans watermarks and added logos outright; Google vehicle ads disapprove overlaid watermarks and superimposed logos. Cars.com, CarGurus, AutoTrader and Craigslist publish no overlay rule we could find (check with your rep).
✓
Never place the logo over scratches, dents or kerbed wheels.
A logo is fine, concealment is not.
Next step
The size is step one, the background is the photo
Once every photo is the right size and carries your logo, the thing that still separates your listing from the one next to it is what is behind the car. A dealer's lot, a street, a neighbour's bins: the marketplace crops them all into the same small thumbnail, and the clean one gets the click.
Car Background AI replaces the background on a smartphone car photo with a consistent studio or dealership backdrop in about five seconds per image, and keeps the car itself untouched, so the condition a buyer sees is the condition they get. It runs in the browser, works on whole batches, and you can try it free with no credit card.
If you only need the resizer today, that is fine. It stays free, and it works on its own.

FAQS
Frequently asked questions
What size should car photos be for Facebook Marketplace?
Facebook does not publish a pixel size for vehicle listings. It allows up to 20 photos per listing and rejects listings with too few or very small images. A landscape 4:3 photo at least 1024 pixels wide, saved as JPEG, uploads cleanly and fills the gallery. Keep text, banners and price stickers off the image; Facebook's dealer help says they are generally not allowed.
Can I add my dealership logo to many photos?
Yes. Upload your logo as a PNG, drag it where you want it on the preview, and set its size and opacity. It lands in the same spot on every photo, up to 30 photos at a time, so the set looks like one catalogue, ready to upload to the marketplace or your inventory feed. To edit backgrounds in bulk as well, the Car Background AI editor handles whole batches.
Will a logo or watermark hurt my listing?
It depends on the marketplace. Facebook Marketplace disallows banners and text on vehicle photos; eBay's picture policy bans watermarks and added logos; Google vehicle ads disapprove overlaid watermarks and superimposed logos. Cars.com, CarGurus, AutoTrader and Craigslist publish no overlay rule we could find. A small, semi-transparent corner logo is the safe format where logos are allowed, and an unbranded export is the safe format everywhere else.
Is the car photo resizer free?
Yes. The resizer and logo adder are free to use, with no signup and no watermark, as often as you like, up to 30 photos at a time. Resizing happens in your browser, so your photos never leave your device, and your photos and logo remain yours. It is a free tool from Car Background AI, whose paid product is the background editor: a subscription, with 10 free generations to try and no card required.
Does it reduce photo quality?
Resizing down never adds detail, and it should not lose any that matters. The tool rescales each photo to the target dimensions and downloads it as a high-quality JPG, so a sharp phone photo stays sharp at 1024 × 768. If a photo is a different shape, choose Crop to fill to trim the edges, or Fit whole car to keep the full car with a blurred copy of the photo filling the space behind it. Upload your original, full-resolution files rather than photos already compressed by a messaging app, and keep an unresized master for print or your website.
Which marketplaces does the resizer cover?
The table on this page covers Facebook Marketplace, AutoTrader, Cars.com, CarGurus, eBay Motors, Craigslist, Auto Trader UK and Google vehicle ads. Where a marketplace publishes a size, resize to that size; where it publishes none, a 4:3 landscape export at 1024 × 768 or larger is the safe choice. If your marketplace is missing, tell us and we will add it.
