Trust and Security at Car Background AI
Car Background AI turns car photos into listing-ready images. To do that we hold your photos, your account details and your billing details. This page explains what happens to each of them, who can see them, how long we keep them and how you can get them removed. It lists only what is in place today. Where something is still being confirmed, it says so.

Your photos
What happens to your photos
Four stages: upload, processing, storage, deletion.
1. Upload
You upload photos in the web app at app.carbackground.ai, in the mobile app, or through the API. Both the website and the app redirect every plain HTTP request to HTTPS, so photos travel encrypted between your device and the service. Along with the photo itself we receive its metadata and any optional tags or descriptions you add.
2. Processing
The model removes the original background and places the car on the scene you chose, in about 5 seconds per photo. To process your edit, the photo is sent to third-party AI processing providers, which act on our instructions, on paid business terms that do not allow them to use your images to train their models. We do not train or fine-tune any model on customer photos, unless the photos are anonymized.
3. Storage
Your photos and the edited outputs are stored with our database and storage provider, encrypted at rest. They stay in your account until you delete them, so you can download them whenever you need. Only qualified professionals in our company can open a customer's photo, for quality control and operations, and every opening is logged. Each workspace is isolated: no other customer can see your photos, unless they are members of your team account.
4. Deletion
You can delete any photo, or your whole account, yourself in the app, and deletion is immediate. We keep no backups of photos, so a deleted photo cannot be restored from a backup; our database is backed up, photo files are not. If you delete your account, the data tied to it is erased or anonymized immediately, except for billing records that the law requires us to keep. The privacy policy keeps one narrow exception, for copies needed for debugging.

Your account is yours alone; our terms ask you not to share your login with anyone else. Each workspace is isolated, so no other customer can see your photos, unless they are members of your team account.

Car Background AI is run by a small team. Only qualified professionals in the company can open customer photos, for quality control and operations, and every opening is logged.
Service providers, on our instructions only.
Payment processors, cloud hosting providers, customer support software, analytics vendors, email service providers and third-party AI processing providers, which handle your photos on paid business terms that do not allow them to use your images to train their models. We require them to process data only on our instructions and under confidentiality agreements.

We do not share customer contact details for unrelated marketing without your consent.

Billing
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. You enter card details only on Stripe-hosted pages, at checkout and in the billing portal, never on a form we host, so full card numbers never reach Car Background AI. We keep the card type, last four digits, expiry date, billing address and tax-relevant identifiers to issue invoices and meet accounting rules.
Plans are a monthly or yearly subscription. Your plan renews until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time in your account settings or by contacting support; access runs to the end of the current billing period. Upgrades and downgrades are prorated. Subscriptions are not refundable by default, but if something is wrong with a result, contact support and we will look into it; you can also dispute a charge with your payment provider. Transaction and billing records are kept for at least seven years, as tax law requires.

Accounts
Accounts and access
You must be at least 18 to open an account.
You sign in with your email and password, with a magic link sent to your email, or with a supported third-party sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your login confidential, and if you suspect unauthorized use, tell us at hello@carbackground.ai straight away.
You can delete your account yourself in the app, and deletion is immediate. Billing records that the law requires us to keep are the only exception.
You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Your access continues until the end of the billing period you have paid for.

You own your photos.
You retain all rights to the images you upload, and every output comes with full commercial photography rights on every plan.

By uploading, you grant Car Background AI a licence to host, process and reproduce your content solely to provide the service, improve its performance and support internal quality assurance. Nothing wider.
No training on your photos.
We do not train or fine-tune any model on customer photos, unless the photos are anonymized. The third-party AI processing providers that process your edits work on paid business terms that do not allow them to use your images to train their models.
Built for trust-safe realism.
The editor replaces the background and improves clarity. It is designed to make the listing consistent, not to misrepresent the vehicle's condition.

Car Background AI is operated by CarBG LLC, a Wyoming company, and our privacy policy commits us to work in good faith to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other leading data-protection laws.
Your rights.
You can ask for a copy of your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, a portable copy in a machine-readable format, object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing, and withdraw consent at any time. Requests are free, and we respond within one month; where a request is complex we may take up to two further months, and we tell you if that happens. Email hello@carbackground.ai.

International transfers.
We are GDPR compliant. Our providers operate globally, so data may be stored outside your country. For transfers to other countries, including from the EU and the UK, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent appropriate safeguards, as the law requires.

How your data is protected
We run on a small set of specialist providers. Each one processes data only on our instructions. This is what each kind of service does for you and the protection that applies to your data.

The free car photo resizer and the free car photo logo adder on carbackground.ai/free-tools run entirely in your browser. Your photos and your logo never leave your device, and nothing is uploaded anywhere. There is no signup, nothing to install and no watermark, and each tool handles up to 30 photos at a time. The tools change the size and the branding of a photo and leave the car itself alone.

Report a security issue
If you believe you have found a security issue in Car Background AI, tell us through the contact page or at hello@carbackground.ai. Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it. We will acknowledge your report and keep you informed while we fix it. Please do not access other customers' data and do not run automated scans against our services.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to my car photos after I upload them?
Your photos are sent to third-party AI processing providers only to remove or replace the background, on paid business terms that do not allow them to use your images to train their models. The results are stored in your account, encrypted at rest, so you can download them. They stay there until you delete them, which you can do yourself in the app at any time. Deletion is immediate and we keep no backups of photos, so a deleted photo cannot be restored from a backup.
Does Car Background AI use my photos to train its AI?
No. We do not train or fine-tune any model on customer photos, unless the photos are anonymized. Who owns the edited photos?

Car Background AI holds only a limited licence to host, process and reproduce your content in order to run the service.
How is my payment information handled?
Card payments are processed by Stripe. You enter card details only on Stripe-hosted pages, at checkout and in the billing portal, so Car Background AI never stores full card numbers; we keep the card type, last four digits, expiry date and billing address for invoices and accounting. Plans renew until you cancel, cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period, and you can start with 10 free generations without entering a card.

No. The free car photo resizer and logo adder run entirely in your browser. Your photos and your logo never leave your device, and nothing is uploaded to our servers. There is no signup, nothing to install and no watermark, and you can process up to 30 photos at a time.
How do I delete my data or close my account?
